Greta Hokanson was 16 years old when she was diagnosed with leukemia. It was 2006 and the only solution to save his life was a bone marrow transplant, a high-risk surgery and to top it all none of his two sisters was compatible.
After registering on the list of transplant candidates and thanks to a foundation that helps make donations, Hokanson decided to undergo surgery.
The surgery was a success and a year later, Greta and her donor, Danny Daniels, met in person
Before I met him, he was this amazing man who gave me his bone marrow. It was amazing to see him right in front of me
10 years later, Greta married Tony Hokanson, and was accompanied by 260 family and friends, including Daniels
Although they only met once, they maintained contact through Facebook and email, and their presence at the wedding was very important for Hokanson.
I had an online confirmation system, and when I received your response with the message: We can not wait to see you, my jaw dropped. My eyes filled with tears and I called Tony, who was as excited as I was, because he did not know Danny, Greta said.
Greta and Danny danced Angels Among Us (Angels among us), and without a doubt it was one of the most emotional moments of the link
There was not a dry eye in the place while they danced.
For Daniels, the best part of the day was seeing the new Mrs. Hokanson live the normal life he wanted for her
He was very proud, as any father would be. I felt that my own daughter was getting married, Daniels concluded.
