We always look forward to releasing a third film of the famous series Sex And The City, and we prayed that the quarrel between the actresses Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie Bradshaw) and Kim Cattrall (Samantha Jones) would end in order to see our favorite quartet again, but it seems to be a fact that this will not happen.
But do not worry that they are already working on a second part of the TV series (broadcast for the first time in 1998), and we can not with emotion!
The author of Sex And The City, Candace Bushnell, will publish a novel in August titled Is There Still Sex in The City? (Is there still sex in the city?), and has already sold the rights to Paramount Television and Anonymous Content, which will make it possible to take it back to the small screen.
Is there still sex in the city?
Unfortunately the story will not be a continuation of the first series, so we will not know what happened to our beloved girls. There will be a complete turnaround that will deal with a new dynamic group of women, in which we will see their views, their friendships, marriages, business entrepreneurship and sexuality at 50. A critique of the impossible social standards faced by women at that age.
Nicole Clemens, president of Paramount TV, spoke of the great influence that has been for her as for many women in the world, Sex and The City, besides being excited to be part of the project:
We are delighted to be able to continue this conversation from the point of view of 50-year-old women and to be able to answer the question: is there more sex in the city?
Candace also highlighted her enthusiasm by highlighting and making visible the stereotypes that all those who reach a certain age pass through:
It seems that they think that people who are about to retire are only destined to age and be a burden for others. They are not expected to exercise or undertake, let alone have casual sex with strangers. But that is exactly what is seen in the lives of women in their 50's and 60's, and I am delighted to reflect this side in both a written and screen novel.
See you soon, girls
There is no doubt that it will be a great story and that Bushnell will continue to surprise us with his characters; unfortunately, it seems that in no future near you will see our four girls, Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte. And although the cast of actresses has not been confirmed nor the official release date, we will keep our fingers crossed.
