In itself, the concept of happiness is relative, since you can not measure how much we have reached, and it is subjective because each one has different aspirations that will make you experience that feeling.
Happiness can be found by seeking good for each one. It is a sum of moments that make us feel full and satisfied with something, someone or with ourselves.
Given the different situations that can arise in our life, whether good or bad, the key is how we face them. Like all events, they are formed of moments and will pass. Nothing is forever, so you have to enjoy the good and learn from the bad.
A basic aspect to feel full is to love yourself, accept yourself as you are and value what you have. When we face bad times, surrendering instead of fighting against what happens is part of accepting the process of life.
If there is hatred and resentment it will be difficult to feel good about yourself. When you forgive, you are able to let go, to free yourself from guilt and negative feelings that ruin your character and your health.
4. Take care of your body
It is not about exercising all day to be thin but about a healthy lifestyle that includes good nutrition and moderate exercise, something anyone can accomplish: the simple act of walking 30 minutes makes a difference.
5. Have faith
To have faith is to trust in the meaning of life, which gives us peace of mind and liberates the soul. The Spanish writer Miguel de Unamuno wrote: Faith that no doubt is dead faith. Faith is knowing that there is always a light at the end.
A goal is a goal with a date, that is, a short, medium or long term. Defining the time in which we will achieve this goal is like a challenge to our mind, an invitation to demonstrate what we are capable of.
7. Help others
They say that by helping others we help ourselves, because we find our own satisfaction and, therefore, well-being. Some studies indicate that helping others is reflected in better health and longevity.
8. Sleep well
Sleeping allows our body and mind to rest, recovering from their daily activity. Apparently the lack of sleep affects our mind making us remember more easily the negative aspects of our lives.
9. Doing the right thing
There is no single way to do the right thing, but we will know that we have achieved it if we feel morally well and without regrets. We must remember that the things we do must be, first, good for everyone, no matter what they say.
When you laugh, you relax the muscles of the body and release endorphins, which make us feel happy and reduce stress levels. The more you stimulate the brain to release this chemical, you will feel happier and more relaxed.
Remember that «Happiness is intimate, not external; and therefore it does not depend on what we have, but on what we are »(Henry Van Dyke).
